High Five is two!
High Five is two years old and alive and kicking in the Warley / Pellon area .
They now offer seven activity sessions for over 50s and anyone else who feels they might benefit from what they do.
Building on the success of their Monday Tai Chi class, the group is on course to open a second Tai Chi class for beginners after Easter on Tuesday mornings. There’s also Singing for fun, Gentle exercise classes, a kurling group and an art class. Their new Scottish Dancing class is popular and full of fun as well as a little dancing. Classes are £3 per class and the first session is FREE.

The group will hold their AGM this Saturday to celebrate two fabulous first years.

Illingworth and Bradshaw’s Local Activity Group have announced their December activity dates, showing when classes will be breaking for Christmas and start back in the new year.

EAC Over 60s Art Awards
Elderly Accommodation Counsel (EAC) is a national charity that helps older people make informed decisions about meeting their housing and care needs. EAC has run the Over 60s Art Awards since 1994.
The Awards celebrate the talent and creativity of amateur artists who are between the ages of 60 and over 100, and who work in any genre. With Prizes on offer, it also awards those talents.

Brighouse Art Festival
The week long festival from 23rd August through until the 31st August has been planned not only to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee but also to celebrate the creative arts in the local community.
The festival in what is hoped to be the first of many such events, will see Brighouse playing host to some high profile and successful performers including The Yorkshire Saxophone Choir and the Ian McMillan Orchestra.

Photography Club- FREE!
Run by professional photographer Bob Collier, Ryburn Valley High School’s photography club is now in it’s 5th season. People who have never used a camera before, or those who want to improve their skills, work with Bob both in school and on location to develop their technique.
This club is very popular and is on Tuesday afternoons 1.30pm-3.30pm for 6 weeks. Bring your own camera and Bob will show you how to take great photos, and use the school computers to improve your images. Beginners or experienced snappers welcome!

New year, new you in Illingworth and Bradshaw
21st December 2011: Illingworth and Bradshaw Neighbourhood Scheme have launched their new year programme. There’s something for everyone, with a new chess class and board games club, table tennis and new-look keep fit, as well as old favourites including Tai Chi, painting and of course the popular Crafty Club. New people are always given a warm welcome, so don’t be shy, try something new! Materials are provided.
