Charity knitathon

Calling all knitters and crocheters!

Three Bags Full, the knitting shop in the Piece Hall, has organised a charity knitathon to take place next week, on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th October. Participants will be gathering at the shop to make clothing for premature babies, as well as contributing to an Afghan blanket to be raffled by a local charity.

Here are the details from the shop’s owner, Kath:

I’ve timed it to fit in with Knitting Week this year, so it’s going to be on the 7th and 8th October, 10am to 4pm each day. We’re going to be knitting clothes for premature babies as we did last year and we’re also working towards completing at least one Flowers in the Snow afghan, which we’ll donate to a local charity for raffling. Knitters and crocheters should bring their own needles and/or hooks. Everyone who donates half an hours’ knitting/crocheting time will be offered a 10% discount on anything they buy that day. We’ll provide the patterns and, as far as we’re able, the wool.
