Shibden’s Christmas Craft Fair starts Friday 18th November and will be displaying produce and handcrafted gifts throughout the medieval house and timber framed barn until Sunday 20th November.
On Saturday and Sunday, visitors will be able to see Simon Lumb, master craftsman dry stone waller, carving stone in the form of a bee skep, which will form part of the dry stone walling exhibit at Shibden. Skeps are a form of beehive made of straw and Simon will be carving one in stone which will be placed in a bee bole – a special hollow made in a wall for keeping bees.
Also on display throughout the weekend will be the blacksmith, who will be forging tools and artefacts for sale in the fair.
Entry to the craft fair and the museum is reduced at £2.50 adults, £2.00 concessions.
