A new park, a new name?

News from the Halifax North and East team:

In the next few weeks work begins on the Pellon rec, which will totally transform the appearance making it a fantastic family park.

You might have noticed the new play equipment installed in phase 1.
In phase 2 there’ll be even more new play facilities for younger children and colourful metal fencing and gates will be installed. A new entrance and car parking area off Stretchgate Lane is planned and some areas of tree planting.
Work should be completed by the end of March 2012 and we look forward to an opening ceremony in April.

For a bit of fun we’re running a competition to give the park a new name and we invite entries from anyone from the local Pellon Community. The winner will be picked by your local elected members.
The new name will be carved into a boulder at the entrance to the park and the winner will get to open the new park at the official opening together with a local dignitary.
