Community Festival and Event Fund launched
The Council has launched the Community Festival and Event Fund to support Calderdale based groups that are organising cultural events and festivals across Calderdale, with the aim to get more local people involved in the arts, and attract visitors to our towns and villages. The money for the fund has been made available from the Council’s Economic fighting fund.
The fund is for £25,000 and will run from November 2013 to April 2015. A maximum award of £2,000 will be made to any individual Festival or Event.
The Fund is intended to support local and small scale events and festivals across the whole of Calderdale, so consider how much money you need to support your event carefully, and only ask for the maximum of £2,000 if you really need it.
The Council is particularly keen to encourage applications from small groups wanting support for events in the lead up to the Tour de France Grand Depart 2014, as part of the Cultural Festival. This will complement the larger funding going on regionally through the Cultural Festival programme.
