Helping you beat scams and doorstep crime

West Yorkshire Trading Standards logoFree workshops for over 55s on scams and doorstep crime

Do you work with older or vulnerable people in Calderdale?

West Yorkshire trading standards are running a new project in West Yorkshire to help people over 55 learn more about scams and doorstep crime.

The free SAFER (Scams and Frauds Education for Residents) workshops for over 55’s will cover topics such as:

  • Doorstep Crime
  • Scams & Frauds
  • Benefits for Older People

The interactive workshops will help those taking part to learn how to protect against fraud, gain confidence in dealing with doorstep callers and receive a toolkit with practical items to use at home. Anyone who attends can also have access to a Debt and Money Advice worker who can provide free confidential advice on debt and money management and help carry out benefits checks. The workshops can be booked for a time and place to suit your team meeting, group or other community activity.
