Call out for volunteers!
Are you looking to do something positive for you and for others in 2015?
verd de gris creative arts are looking to recruit new volunteers for 2015 – our creative dementia sessions will be running every week in Hebden Bridge and Halifax in the New Year. No experience is necessary, but we are looking for people who are committed to a compassionate way of being and can offer some time to help us in this ground-breaking work.
Our positive and uplifting sessions take inspiration from the landscape and seasonal change surrounding us. Our simple arts activities create beautiful results: poems that connect us to each other, simple songs with beautiful melodies that are a joy to sing!
This is an opportunity to volunteer / gain experience with one of the leading companies working in arts and health: verd de gris have worked with some of the foremost practitioners in creative dementia care and have a national reputation for excellence.

Calderdale Home Safety Forum event in Mytholmroyd

Are you safe in your home

Our next event will be at Mytholmroyd Community Centre on Weds 19th October (from 10.00am to 2.00pm).
We’ve got around 18 organisations attending so far, including: Fire, Police and Ambulance services, Age UK, Pennine Housing, Falls Prevention Team, Calderdale Council’s Adaptation and Handyperson service, Upbeat, Calderdale Carers Project, Mental Health Team and many more.
As usual, free admission and a hot drink will be available to all. We have a local Mother & Toddler group selling sandwiches + home made cakes and biscuits, at a small cost, to raise a little money for their group.
There is a very large car park immediately in front of the venue with ground level access, via the front entrance, to the main hall which we will be using.
There is already a lot of publicity work going on. In addition to a large advert of the front page of the local newspaper, we already have posters up in local shops and businesses + mentions on various local websiites. We have also managed to persuade the Calder Valley Club in Mytholmroyd to bring their regular Weds members along, in their mini bus, for morning coffee and a look around.
