The Stroke Association Launch Lunch

The Stroke Association has initiated a project aiming to raise awareness of stroke and more importantly, highlight the risk factors of stroke to the local community within Calderdale especially those of South Asian origin.  The idea is to educate local people on what stroke actually is and how it can be minimised or prevented by understanding the causes and responding to them.

Launch Lunch event has been arranged on Thursday 15 March to promote the services on offer. At Queens Road Neighbourhood Centre, Halifax, 1pm – 3pm. The Mayor of Calderdale will be in attendance along with a number of partner organisations supporting the project.

Any organisations or groups wishing to participate in this free event by holding an information stall  should email shamsul.arafen@stroke.org.uk or call 07940 481932.

Stroke is a serious illness and is very high especially within the  local Asian community, therefore it is essential that local people access crucial information, advice and guidance, which is what this project is trying to achieve.

Please note that places are limited so get in touch soon to avoid disappointment.
