Tea Dance at St Hilda’s

St Hilda’s Church Gibraltar Road Halifax  TEA DANCE on Saturday 29th June from 2.00pm to 4.30pm.  Come along and dance — or just listen to the music. Brian and John have been practising so it should be perfect!!!!!!  Tickets £4 including tea, coffee and biscuits. Bring friends for a lovely afternoon.

What’s new for High Five !

High Five is two!

High Five is two years old and alive and kicking in the Warley / Pellon area .

They now offer seven activity sessions for over 50s and anyone else who feels they might benefit from what they do.

Building on the success of their Monday Tai Chi class, the group is on course to open a second Tai Chi class for beginners after Easter on Tuesday mornings. There’s also Singing for fun, Gentle exercise classes, a kurling group and an art class. Their new Scottish Dancing class is popular and full of fun as well as a little dancing. Classes are £3 per class and the first session is FREE.

New Tai Chi class for Pellon’s High Five

Have you been thinking of trying Tai Chi but want a beginners’ class to get you started?
 
Due to the success of their popular long-running Monday Tai Chi class (which is full), the Pellon community group High Five have decided to start a new Tuesday morning group especially for beginners. The new class starts on Tuesday 16th April 2013.  Cost £3, with refreshments served at the end. All welcome – come and give it a try!

High Five’s Scottish Dancing class  got off to a great start this January, but there’s still room for more if you fancy giving it a go. No experience neccessary – it can be as energetic as you want to make it and you don’t need a partner. You do need a pair of soft shoes and a sense of humour…and if you’re not sure if you’ll like it, why not come and grab a cuppa and watch the fun!

High Five’s strawberry cream tea in Pellon

High Five are hosting a fun day and cream tea on  August 18th (2-4pm) at St Columba’s Church hall, Sandbeds Road, Pellon, Halifax.

There will be various demonstrations of crafts, including card-making and painting, plus a delicious strawberry cream tea. Entertainment will be provided by the High Five Singers. Also a stall, with bric-a-brac, cakes and plants so any contributions will be very welcome.  If you attend any High Five activities these can be handed in at the groups you attend, or on the day itself.  There will be a charge of £2 for the strawberry cream tea.

The future’s bright in Pellon!

You may have heard of the Action for Pellon Community Group (APCG) through the work they have done on the new Sandbeds Park and West View Park Fun Day. The group has recently been awarded a £3,500 sustainability grant which will allow them to achieve even more! The group is always looking for new members, so if you want to make a difference on your estate and interested in volunteering maybe this is for you?

Try sailing, kayaking or windsurfing for free!

…at Halifax Sailing Club’s Open Day on Sunday 17 June, 12 noon to 4pm at Warley Moor Reservoir, Halifax.

Please bring a change of clothing, suitable soft shoes and a towel and waterproofs if possible. Remember….You may get wet!!!

All children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Refreshments available in the clubhouse.
