Job Vacancy – Bilingual Mental Health Advocate

logo[1]Rethink Mental Illness require a Bilingual advocate English/Urdu, Punjabi, Kashmiri dialect at the  Calderdale Service. This is a temporary post but the person will receive training to become an Independent Mental Health Advocate. If anyone wants to know more about the post or requirements, contact Jane Holiday on 07760 624940.   

Free Mental Health First Aid Training

A Mental Health First Aid course will teach you to:

  • Spot the early signs of a mental health problem
  • Provide help on a first aid basis
  • Help prevent someone from hurting themselves or others
  • Help stop a mental illness from getting worse
  • Help someone recover faster
  • Guide someone towards the right support

This is a 2 day workshop open to anyone who lives or works in Calderdale but may be particularly useful for anyone who comes into contact with vulnerable people.

On Thursday 1 August and Monday 5 August, 9.30am – 4.30pm

Looking After Me – a course for carers

Calderdale Carers Project run a course called Looking After Me – it’s designed specifically for carers and offers all kinds of useful and important information and advice. The course has been running for several years now and continues to gain popularity – it really is a unique opportunity for carers, who are often stressed and/or isolated, to get together and learn together how to look after themselves and get everything they are entitled to as a carer.
